Amy Benton’s from good stock. She grew up in the Midwest where her strong work ethic and solid values were born. She got her first guitar when she was 12.
After school she followed her heart to Nashville, Tennessee, where she soon found she was as comfortable on stage in a honky tonk as she was singing from a pew at church.
With musical heroes and influences such as Buck Owens, Merle Haggard, Emmylou Harris, Loretta Lynn, Joe Walsh (YES ! Joe Walsh), Mindy Smith, Hayes Carll, and Pat Flynn, Amy found her own voice. Her music is steeped in deep, honest traditional country music.
She is fortunate to combine two of her passions: loving people and playing music, into a career. Amy is a board-certified music therapist who works with child and adult cancer patients and the special needs of the elderly.
She is thankful for good folks who have helped her along her way as she continues to write music, perform, and pitch songs.
