Clinton Gregory

MARTY STUART once remarked..."Clinton Gregory is the finest country singer on the
planet ".

SAMMY KERSHAW says of Clinton..."What A GREAT country singer"

BILL ANDERSON says.... "When you talk to me about Clinton you are preaching to
the choir", I've been a fan for years".

Born in Martinsville, Virginia, Clinton Gregory came from a long line of fiddle players.
He picked up the fiddleat five years of age, making his performing debut at bluegrass
festivals within a year. He came to Nashville at age 12 where his father was playing at
the Grand Ole Opry. Clinton was highly encouraged by the greatestinfluence his life,
his father Willie Gregory, a fourth generation fiddle player who died in 1992. Clinton says
of his father “He taught me to play fiddle tunes the way they were originally written, some 200
200 years ago.My father had a major impact major on my understanding of music, says Clinton.
Throughout his youth, Clinton found little else but the fiddle kept him on the straight and narrow
and could often be found pickin’ and grinnin’alongside his father in venues throughout the south.
The last time Clinton and his dad played, publicly together was an appearance on the Grand Ole
Opry. “Now that's a memory that will stir the soul, hold you, and never, ever let you go”, says Clinton.

Once in Nashville, he was quickly hired as fiddle player for Dennis Robbins, the McCarters and
Suzy Boguss, oftenwinding up on the road for more than 200 days a year. Clinton’s quiet,
reserved nature kept many from quickly learning what may be his greatest gift……an incredibly,
true, pure, and moving country voice. Combine his amazing fiddle skills, guitar mastery and a
country voice straight  from the heart, and you will find the classic example of a pure country
music artist with the finest of  God given talents.

In 1990 Step One Records signed him to their label. His first debut, a heart-tugging version of the
Jimmie Davisclassic, “Nobody's Darlin' But Mine” was a highly acclaimed release. What followed
was a string of country hits;

“Couldn't Love Have Picked a Better Place to Die”, “One Shot at a Time”, and the Top 20 hit,

Play Ruby, Play”...which also aired as a hit video on CMT and TNN. Each release showcased
the pure talent and traditional country style of Clinton Gregory. In 1992 and 1993 Clinton was
named Music Row's Independent Artist of The Year.

He went on to have eleven top 100 US Billboard Chart hits. His video, “Writing On The Wall”, a
tribute to our American militay, received worldwide accolades. Clinton’s talents led him to
appearances on Hew Haw, Nashville Now, The Grand Ole Opry, and an amazing performance
Neil Young inThe Heart of Gold Documentary and on The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien,
to name just a few. Clinton has toured with some of country music’s greatest legends and has
wooed country fans all over the world.

Clinton continues to keep his audiences intrigued, entertained, and totally satisfied. Be it on tour
with the likes of the legendary Gene Watson or gracing the great stages of the world, or the up
close and personal setting created in a local honky-tonk.
